First Afghan Women Empowerment Conference

The purpose of this conference is to engage, educate and empower Afghan women to become effective leaders, mentors, healers and advocates for one another, so they become pillars of hope for their communities across the globe, but especially in Afghanistan.

With the collapse of the democratically elected government of Afghanistan, women in the country have been stripped of their basic rights to an education and a career. It is vital to champion for both the rights and the empowerment of these women. 

One way to achieve this is by building a strong network among Afghan women, both inside Afghanistan, as well as in the diaspora; and one way of attaining this is by holding an annual conference focused on the empowerment, support, and needs of Afghan women. 

Women in Afghanistan need to see other women who look like them, speak their language, and share their pain advocating for them and uplifting them. The conference will be an all-day event and be fully virtual (held as a webinar).

It will include keynote speakers, small group activities, networking opportunities, and community building sessions with eminent Afghan female leaders and scholars in the US, Canada, Australis, Europe, and Afghanistan. 

It will draw Afghan women from both the public and private sector to inspire and be inspired on their personal and professional journeys; it will be an interactive forum for them to share experiences and learn from one another. 

We will strive to engage, educate, and empower Afghan women to become effective leaders, mentors, healers, and advocates for one another, so they become pillars of hope and progress for their communities across the globe, and especially inside Afghanistan. Afghan women will come together from all walks of life, and we will turn our collective pain into a powerful purpose and action.
