FALL 2020 INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
VOLUNTEER & CLIENT COORDINATION INTERNSHIP
Reporting directly to our Volunteer & Client Coordinators, these interns dive headfirst into the refugee and immigrant community in New Haven, and play a vital role in establishing the tutor/learner relationship. Interns will assist with identifying and screening clients, connecting clients with volunteers, volunteer training, and organizing our commencement events.
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP
Reporting directly to our Director of Program Development, these interns play a hands-on role in managing the long-term operations and growth of our various programs and initiatives at Elena's Light. This internship is an excellent opportunity for anybody interested in non-profit management to begin immersing themselves in the field!
WOMEN'S HEALTH AND WELLNESS INTERNSHIP
Reporting directly to our Director of Program Development and Executive Director, the Women’s Health and Wellness Interns will have the opportunity to manage and implement in-home health literacy classes for refugee women on the topics of navigating the healthcare system, navigating the school system, maternal health, and common childhood illnesses.
CHILD HEALTH AND WELLNESS INTERN
Reporting directly to our Director of Program Development, these interns will have the opportunity to help Elena's Light facilitate our Child Wellness Program. Interns will work directly with our participants and assist with executing COVID-19 precautions, managing administrative materials and tasks, and implementing our curriculum materials with the children participating.
GRANTS, FINANCE, & FUNDRAISING INTERNSHIP
Reporting directly to our Director of Finance, these interns play a critical role in supporting our sustainability and long-term operations at Elena's Light. Interns will assist with grant research, grant writing, designing and hosting fundraisers, and managing non-profit and tax-exempt finances. After training, interns will also have the opportunity to complete a grant-writing proposal independently for review.
SOCIAL MEDIA & WEB DESIGN INTERNSHIP
Reporting directly to our Social Media Coordinator, these interns manage the online presence of Elena's Light. Intern responsibilities include creating engaging content for Elena's Light social media accounts, assisting in web-building and web design, assisting with app building, and assisting with multimedia editing and presentations.
EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT MENTEE
Reporting directly to our Founder and Executive Director, this internship is an incredibly unique opportunity for any students interested in starting their own non-profit. Intern responsibilities include providing direct support to our Founder as we work to grow our organization. Additionally, the Executive Assistant Mentee will have the opportunity to learn through experience what the process takes to create and run a non-profit from the ground up.
OUTREACH & COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS INTERNSHIP
Reporting directly to our Director of Outreach & Community Partnerships, these interns will help create meaningful, mutually beneficial connections within our community. Responsibilities include contributing to the establishment of community partnerships, widening the Elena’s Light network, and increasing awareness about our organization’s mission. Our interns will have a direct role in shaping our growth as an organization!
