ELENA'S LIGHT
ESL TUTOR!
If you enjoy expressing yourself by reading, writing and speaking and want to share that joy with others, you can be an ESL (English as a Second Language) tutor!
Our learners are refugee and immigrant women who want to improve their English speaking, reading, and writing skills.
It takes empathy and patience to work with adult learners. For many of our clients, life responsibilities - jobs, children, managing a household, providing care to ill family members, and a lack of reliable transportation - have interfered with their ability to study on their own. If you can commit to meeting with a learner for one to two hours per week, we will provide all of the training, instructional materials, and support the two of you will need.
Volunteering as a tutor for Elena’s Light is a great way to enrich the life of an adult learner while also enriching your own. Or if you have other skills you would like to offer to Elena's Light, let us know below!
